Swadlincote Heritage Trail

Outdoor Signage

South Derbyshire District Council approached me to create three new heritage lecterns to expand the existing Swadlincote Heritage Trail. The brief was to design engaging, informative displays that would bring the area’s history to life for both residents and visitors.

I worked closely with project managers at SDDC and local historians at The Magic Attic to research and develop the content. My role included creating the layouts, sourcing and preparing images, and designing graphics that complemented the style of the existing trail while giving the new lecterns their own character.

Once the designs were approved, I supplied the final artwork to an external company, who handled production and installation. The result is a set of permanent, accessible displays that highlight the rich industrial and cultural heritage of Swadlincote and the surrounding area, and add a fresh layer of storytelling to the town’s heritage offer.
